Scouts worked on advancements and talked about preferences for summer camp and the need to get better at knot tying. Please practice the following knots: square knot, 2 half-hitches, bow line, taut-line hitch, and sheet bend. Instructions are in your Scout book around page 364 (not sure if this varies in newer books). Mr. Hill said the Cyber Chip is going away Jan 1, 2024 and there will be no more waiting between Eagle palms. Other badges may be updated so either finish with the workbook you have started or print a new version after the beginning of the year.
Dec 16, Philmont treks released
Philmont Scouts: Look for an email with the link to treks, let your leader know which ones you want to do. If you have not paid your $26 for the last Philmont Shakedown, bring your payment to the next meeting!
Monday Dec 18, regular meeting
This will be the last meeting of the year. Scouts will elect patrol leaders and redo the knot relay race. Scouts wanting to be patrol leaders need to be at least 1st Class.

January 19th-20, Climb Kalamazoo
Back by very popular demand from the Scouts - Climb Kalamazoo overnight! 5 hours of climbing, option for climbing merit badge as desired. PLC has selected a date of Friday Night, January 19th. Plan on leaving the church about 6:30pm Friday, return 9:30am Saturday (times may change closer to the event date). $55 per scout, fill out this waver to lock in your spot and commit to paying through the Troop. Fuel and Food costs separate. We are limited to 25 Scouts so sign up quickly. The roster has to be turned in a week before the event.

Scout Sunday at the Church! Feb 18th or 25th
Depending on the Church’s schedule, we will have Scout Sunday near the end of February. Scouts should plan on helping Mr. Dansfield set up the displays the Saturday before Scout Sunday. Scout’s will wear Class A’s and help with the service and host the congregation after the service in the basement. More details to come!
July 6 - 13 is our Mackinac week!
We have big troops wanting to go with us, so do your best to get to 1st Class so you can attend. Selection criteria will be tougher if interest is high.
