This week, we met Emal Nazari, a Scout who escaped from the Taliban in Afghanistan. We talked to him, learned more about scouting in Afghanistan, showed him a few things about scouting in Michigan, and watched a presentation about how he became a scout and what led him to coming to the US. He is a great artist, has a business degree, obtained the Eagle Scout rank, and earned the "Messengers Of Peace" award. To help him, we set up a gift basket and donated supplies for him and the scouts of the UN. We hope to see him again.
